From one student to Many Communities
The Story Behind Civify
Warren Li is a high school student passionate about the intersection of artificial intelligence, civic engagement, and public education.
His interest in AI began through research on algorithmic bias and online misinformation, where he explored how emerging technologies shape the information people see and the decisions they make. As his research progressed, he realized that research alone is not enough—communities also need practical tools to recognize AI-generated content, misinformation, and online manipulation.
That realization inspired him to create Civify, a community initiative dedicated to improving AI and digital literacy through interactive workshops, educational resources, and partnerships with libraries, schools, and community organizations. His goal is to transform research into accessible education that empowers people of all ages to navigate an increasingly AI-driven world with confidence.
Beyond Civify, Warren is actively involved in local civic engagement and public policy initiatives, where he works to promote responsible AI education and strengthen digital literacy in the community.
